    Discover the flavours, farm stories and beautiful country landscapes of the Scenic Rim on a relaxed four-day escape. This Scenic Rim food and wine tour combines local producers, farm experiences, vineyard dining, tastings and scenic touring. You’ll also enjoy three nights based in Boonah, giving you time to settle in and enjoy the journey.

    First, visit Summer Land Camels for a guided tour of the property. Afterwards, enjoy morning tea overlooking the farm before continuing to Boonah. Here, there is free time to wander the town, browse the shops and purchase lunch.

    The following day brings a change of scenery. Travel through Rathdowney and into the peaceful Lost World Valley, surrounded by striking mountain and rainforest landscapes. Then, visit sixth-generation Tommerup’s Dairy Farm. Meet one of the farming family, hear their story and enjoy a tasting of farm produce.

    Next, experience country life at Towri Sheep Farm. Watch a sheep-milking demonstration, sample sheep cheese platters and explore the French-style gardens. There is also time to meet the sheep and enjoy the relaxed farm setting.

    Afterwards, continue to Kooroomba Vineyard & Lavender Farm for a leisurely lunch. Take in the surrounding vineyards and lavender fields before sitting back for a scenic coach tour through Mount Alford and Moogerah Dam.

    Finally, travel to Wyaralong Dam and The Overflow Estate 1895. Here, enjoy lunch and tastings while taking in the rural surroundings.

    Day 1 HOME TO SUMMERLAND CAMELS & BOONAH

    Welcome to our Scenic Rim Food & Wine Trail! Over the next four days, we will explore the flavours and landscapes of this picturesque region while discovering working farms, local producers and authentic paddock-to-plate experiences.

    Our first stop is Summerland Camels, where we enjoy a guided tour of the property. During our visit, we learn more about camel milk and skincare products before settling in for morning tea overlooking the farm.

    From here, we continue to the charming country town of Boonah. Enjoy some free time to wander along the street, browse the boutiques and purchase lunch at your leisure.

    This afternoon, we arrive at our accommodation and have time to check in and refresh. Later, we come together for a welcome dinner.

    Overnight: Boonah Valley Motor Inn, Boonah

    After breakfast, we set out on a scenic journey through Rathdowney and towards the Lost World Valley.

    Our route takes us via Tamrookum, Christmas Creek Road, Widgee Creek Road and Darlington Connection Road. Along the way, enjoy the rural scenery and the natural beauty surrounding this special part of the Scenic Rim.

    The Lost World Valley sits against the landscape of Lamington National Park, with towering cliffs, rainforest and peaceful countryside creating a memorable backdrop to our day.

    We stop at Christmas Creek Café, where there is time to purchase lunch at your own cost.

    Afterwards, we continue to Tommerup’s Dairy Farm. Here, we meet one of the sixth-generation working farmers who will take us on a tour of the property and share the family story.

    Of course, no farm visit would be complete without a taste of the local produce, and we will also enjoy a tasting during our visit.

    Later this afternoon, we return to our accommodation with time to refresh before dinner.

    Today brings more wonderful farm experiences as we travel to Towri Sheep Farm, an agritourism destination in the Scenic Rim.

    The Towri property is home to approximately 350 sheep across more than 300 acres of scenic rural land. The property also features a purpose-built dairy, specialist milking equipment, the Towri homestead and gardens.

    During our visit, we enjoy a sheep-milking demonstration, followed by sheep cheese platters. We also have private access to the beautiful French-style gardens and, of course, some time to meet the sheep.

    Following our farm experience, we make our way to Kooroomba Vineyard & Lavender Farm.

    Here, we settle in for a leisurely lunch while overlooking the vineyards and colourful lavender fields. It is a lovely opportunity to relax and enjoy another side of the Scenic Rim’s food and farming story.

    This afternoon, sit back and relax aboard the coach while our coach captain provides a highlight tour through Mt Alford and Moggerah Dam.

    We then return to our accommodation, where dinner will be served at the motel restaurant.

    After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning in Boonah before we begin our final day of touring.

    There is time to purchase morning tea at your own cost before we continue to picturesque Wyaralong Dam.

    Our final food and wine experience is at The Overflow Estate 1895, where we stop for lunch and tastings.

    The winery specialises in Mediterranean grape varieties including Vermentino, Fiano and Montepulciano, giving us one last opportunity to enjoy the flavours of the Scenic Rim.

    After lunch and tastings, we begin our journey home following a wonderful four days exploring the farms, producers, vineyards and landscapes of the Scenic Rim.
