Welcome to our 3-day tour to Brisbane and the Goodna Jacaranda Festival! After our morning pickups, we depart the Sunshine Coast and begin our travel south. Upon arrival to Brisbane, we will be greeted by our hosts at Miegunyah House. This heritage home was built in the 1880s and its opulence is evident in the iron-lace balustrades, filigree columns and elegant furnishings. The home is a stunning example of 19th-century Victorian charm. As we step through the wide cedar doorway, we will be fascinated by the exotic collectables from travels abroad and the life of wealth once enjoyed by the inhabitants. At the other extreme, we will also catch a glimpse of the labours endured by cooks and housekeepers of the time. We stay here for lunch before our afternoon ride on The Wheel of Brisbane. This giant Ferris wheel provides a unique and fun way to see the city from above, allowing us to soak up the stunning 360-degree views of the city. From here we make our way to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens. The 17-hectare heritage listed garden is Queensland’s oldest heritage garden which borders the Brisbane River and edge of the city. We will be welcomed by a guide who will take us on a walking tour of the gardens. After exploring the gardens, we will make our way to our accommodation and settle in for the next two nights.
