Bloody Brisbane Crime Tour
$130 includes Lunch
No city in Australia has a more blood-thirsty origin than Brisbane. From its bad beginnings as the most infamous convict penal colony in Australia, Moreton Bay ran literally with blood, staining the very soil upon which the town was developed. It was home to the rejected scum of Sydney before Melbourne had even been conceived of. Even notorious Port Arthur in Tasmania was not established until nearly a decade after Moreton Bay. As Brisbane town grew, so did the crime. The “River City” has been the scene of some of Australia’s most infamous crimes… including the Whiskey Au Go Go, Betty Shanks’ Murder, and the Vampire Killer.
Undertake a 2.5hr journey to four infamous crime scenes in Brisbane – crimes which still haunt the town to this day. With local historian and author Jack Sim as our guide, we’ll learn the backgrounds of the perpetrators, investigators, killers and victims, as you walk their very footsteps. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy lunch at The Lighthouse at Cleveland. Minimum numbers required.
