The O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat Tour begins with a scenic drive through the picturesque Scenic Rim. Rolling hills and lush countryside lead us to our first delightful stop at Albert River Wines. Here, we enjoy a guided tour of a charming historic colonial farm. Wander through beautifully restored heritage buildings and meet friendly farm animals. Soon, we arrive at the spectacular O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, nestled deep within pristine rainforest. During our stay, enjoy the famous O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk. Walk across suspension bridges high in the rainforest canopy. Experience the forest from a truly unique perspective while surrounded by ancient trees and birdlife.

Our adventure continues with an exciting 4WD tour through the rainforest. Visit beautiful lookouts, including Moran’s Falls and Pat’s Bluff. On our final day, we explore the spectacular Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. Elevated walkways and bridges reveal incredible views over Cedar Creek and the surrounding rainforest. We then enjoy lunch and wine tasting at Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard & Winery. Afterwards, enjoy free time to browse the charming boutiques, galleries and specialty shops along Gallery Walk.

Day 1 NAMBOUR TO O’REILLY’S RETREAT

Welcome to our tour to the beautiful O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. With our pickups taken care of we make our way to Albert River Wines, where we join the friendly staff on a guided tour of the historic colonial farm.

On our tour, take in the 1800s homestead, Tamborine House, the fully restored Auchenflower House and Taabinga Chapel (the original Taabinga Lutheran Chapel). We’ll also meet the farm yard animals, be introduced to life on the sheep station and have a go at cracking a stock whip or throwing a boomerang.

Following our fabulous tour, we enjoyed a lovely lunch in the restaurant. Next, we visit O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard for a delightful wine tasting before travelling to Lamington National Park, where we arrive at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat.

It’s secluded here, isolated due to the private property being established prior to its declaration as a national park. While it wasn’t Queensland’s first national park, it is the most significant and was regularly referred to as ‘Queensland’s National Park’. World Heritage status was bestowed on Lamingston in 1994 in recognition of its high biodiversity and the fact it contains a living museum of the evolutionary steps taken in the development of Australia’s modern-day flora.

On arrival, we settle into our accommodation and enjoy O’Reilly’s hospitality and the beauty of the area.

Day 2 EXPLORING O’REILLY’S RAINFOREST RETREAT

After breakfast, we spend the morning enjoying the beautiful scenery that surrounds O’Reilly’s at leisure. There are a number of short nature walks, including the famous Tree Top Walk or the early Morning Bird Walk.

Lunch will be provided before our afternoon 4WD tour, which includes a visit to Moran’s Falls, the Wishing Tree, and Pat’s Bluff. On our return, you may wish to relax in your room, take in the surroundings, enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea or catch a film in the theatrette.

After an exhilarating day in the mountains, we relax and enjoy an early dinner together. Later, we board a 4WD bus for a guided rainforest tour to the mystical Glow Worm Grotto. We perch beside the secluded gully, home to millions of ancient glow worms, illuminating the cliff face in a blanket of twinkling stars.

Day 3 O’REILLY’S RAINFOREST RETREAT TO NAMBOUR

We have a leisurely morning to enjoy the surroundings one final time before saying farewell to our wonderful hosts.

We travel to the spectacular hinterlands of Mount Tamborine. First, we enjoy the stunning rainforest scenery at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. Set in acres of magnificent rainforest beside the crystal-clear rock pools of Cedar Creek, we can immerse ourselves in a comprehensive array of rainforest flora and fauna. The thrill comes from the 40-metre bridge that soars a breathtaking 30 metres above the creek and rainforest below.

A short distance from here is Cedar Creek Estate, where we enjoy a delicious lunch and wine tasting. We then have some free time to explore the Gallery Walk. Wander the art galleries, crafts, jewellery, and quaint shops filled with local produce before making our way home to Nambour.
