AUGUST 2020

Saturday 1: Supporting Rural Communities: Pottique Lavender Farm at Kingaroy – $90  includes Morning Tea & Lunch
Today we visit the largest lavender shop in Australia to: browse their range of French country style homewares; explore the antiques warehouse; taste lavender liqueur and local wines through the Cellar Door; and wander through the lavender fields to pick your own lavender. We enjoy lunch at the local RSL Club before visiting the most fascinating museum.

Wednesday 5: Mary Valley Rattler – $125 includes Lunch 
Step aboard this meticulously restored steam train and travel along the tracks that have been brought back to life. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Mary Valley, stopping at the historic town of Amamoor where we can watch the fascinating process of the train turning around. After we return to Gympie we’ll enjoy a 2-course lunch at the Platform Café. 

Friday 7: Mary Poppins and Brennan & Geraghtys Store Museum, Maryborough – $120 includes Morning Tea & Lunch  
Discover Maryborough’s unique connections to the world’s most famous nanny against a backdrop of beautiful parks and glorious colonial architecture.  We also visit the well-stocked 1870’s era store with its collection of products and paperwork going back over 140 years.  

Wednesday 12: Sib’s Birthday Fun Day with Lunch at Coolum Surf Club – $85 includes Lunch
A day of fun and frivolity, with a few prizes, most suitable for those with a great sense of humour and adventure. Teams of 2 or more are encouraged and can be nominated upon booking or on the day. Comfortable clothes and walking shoes recommended AND it’s important that each team has a smartphone or digital camera.

Saturday 15: Camels & Canapes – Singles at Sunset for Under 40’s – $115 includes pick-up and drop-off (if you live south of Maroochydore to Caloundra… if you live further north or west of the highway, it will be more) a grazing table and drinks (beer, bubbly, wine and soft drink)

Tuesday 18: Noosa River ECO Cruise – $125 includes Morning Tea & Lunch  
Enjoy a 2 ½ hour cruise, taking in the Noosa River, River Mouth, and Weyba Creek with an informative commentary on the flora, fauna, and history of the area.   We’ll disembark for a short-guided nature walk, then back onboard to cruise quietly past the waterfront homes of Noosa Sound before returning to the Marina where we’ll enjoy lunch.

Thursday 20: A Day on North Stradbroke Island – $125 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
After an enjoyable ferry ride, we will learn about the island at the local museum before enjoying some of the best views from the Gorge Walk and Point Lookout. We’ll enjoy a relaxing 2-course lunch at the Stradbroke Hotel, overlooking the ocean and possibly get a glimpse of some of our magnificent wildlife.

Tuesday 1: Strawberry Fields and The Skin Thing for those on the north of the Mooloolah River – $30 includes Coach Only
A brief visit to Sunshine Coast’s leading supplier of Cow Hides, Sheepskins and Ugg boots (for over 45 years) with a wide range of other products.  A great opportunity to update your slippers! Then over to Strawberry Fields, a working Strawberry Farm and a favourite destination for locals and tourists a like – especially during strawberry season.  You can choose to pick your own strawberries or buy them from the store and simply relax with a cuppa (or something yummier) and connect with new friends while enjoying the Sunshine Coast views.

A Celebration of all things Italian, featuring: Fortunato Isgro (Star of the Italian entertainment world) along with Queenslands Opera sensation Meg Kiddle; OZ Sax Legend Tom McKenzie; Soul Good; 12 piece Big Band Blues and Jazz; Amazing Traditional Italian Food; Pasta Eating Competition; Italian Cooking Demonstration by Roberta from the “ The Saucy Fork”; Prizes for the Best traditional dress; Bocce’ Salami Wheel; Dancing & Fun for all the family; Full Range of Moffatdale Ridge Wines; and Premium Italian Beer.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has arrested this year’s avocado festival, yet we’re still committed to supporting the community by adventuring to their area.

Monday 14: Shopping at Chermside with the opportunity to learn about your iPhone or iPad in a course at the Apple Store – $50 includes Coach Only

Friday 25: 1 Day Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers – $110 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
Join us on this day tour to Toowoomba’s famous Carnival of Flowers, where we will admire prize winning parks and gardens, including a delicious picnic lunch at Laurel Bank Park.

OCTOBER 2020

Saturday 3 October at 7:30pm: Spirit of the Dance at Caloundra Events Centre – $120  includes Entry 
Before the show, we’ll enjoy an early dinner at one of Caloundra’s favourite restaurants, at your own expense.

Friday 16: Bribie Island WWII Bunker Tour – $160 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
Rated as one of the best things to do on Bribie Island, this 4WD tour starts by driving through the short National Park beach access track at Woorim. Once reaching the beach, our first stop is Norfolk Lagoon followed by Mermaid Lagoon. With iconic Australian wildlife and scenery, these both provide absolutely wonderful photo opportunities. We’ll have plenty of time to explore and learn the history of the 1940’s built WWII Bunkers, which are slowly descending into the ocean and may, one day, cease to exist. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes to walk on the sand and bring your togs in case you’re inspired to swim.

Monday 19: Mountainview Alpaca Farm + Lunch at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards – $120 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
Located just outside of Canungra on Lamington National Park Road, we’ll spend time learning about and feeding the cuddly alpacas before enjoying a 2-course lunch – and a glass or two of wine – at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards. A scenic drive through Canungra on way home via our usual comfort stop at Yatala Pies.

Wednesday 21: Oktoberfest at King Ludwigs – $95 includes Lunch
King Ludwigs Restaurant of Maleny will whisk us away to Bavaria where traditional Lederhosen / Dirndl outfits will help with your German dancing. Guaranteed to be an funtastic day!

Friday 23: Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World – $100 includes Lunch
Whether you are an avid botanist, a nature-lover or simply cherish the peace and tranquility of beautiful gardens and rolling landscapes, a visit to Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World is the perfect day out.

Sunday 25: Outback Spectacular “Heartland” – $145 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
Heartland will propel us into an extraordinary immersive experience of the Australian bush and outback life. A powerful experience of dust, beauty, calm, desert, drought and rain. Although not technically visiting a rural community, Drought Angels is the charity of choice for this spectacular, so our attendance still supports those affected by the ongoing drought. Includes a 3-course lunch and drinks.

Thursday 29: QCamel Camel Milk Dairy  –  $60 includes Morning Tea
Australia’s premium supplier of Certified Organic camel milk products, lovingly made using ethical, organic and sustainable farming practices.  Their camels are pasture fed in a no-cull environment where the milk is shared with the calves. QCamel provide a superb morning tea and you’ll be home in time for a late lunch.

All aboard for a wholly interactive authentic heritage and cultural experience located at Australia’s oldest railway workshops still in operation.

Thursday 12: Brisbane River Sights Lunch Cruise on the Kookaburra Queen – $120 includes Morning Tea & Lunch 
After morning tea by the sea at Redcliffe, we continue to Brisbane where we board one of Brisbane’s truly unique vessels – the Kookaburra Queen paddle wheelers or the spectacular Voyager – and take in the views as we leisurely cruise the Brisbane River, whilst indulging in a seasonal contemporary buffet, a sensational salad bar and delectable desserts.

Saturday 14: Eat Street Northshore – $50 Coach Only with pick-ups starting after lunch
There’s nothing like Eat Street anywhere else in the world; a lively venue at a former container wharf featuring stalls with international street eats & beer.

Monday 30: Supporting Rural Communities: Bush Christmas Exhibition, Toowoomba – $80 includes Coach Only
This highly anticipated event on the Toowoomba calendar for Christmas gift and gourmet shoppers is unlike anything else in Australia. The annual celebration of outback creative talent presents a magnificent collection of handmade gifts and gourmet delights. Exhibitors are principally from the bush and are supported by a few selected city artisans, many of whom have rural backgrounds. The aim is to bring the very best of the bush to a large gallery-style city exhibition in the lead-up to Christmas. The creations always have a story – skills and recipes handed down, hardships and celebrations, personal challenges or endeavours, and materials lovingly restored – all making the artistic works and gourmet delights even more meaningful.

DECEMBER 2020

Thursday 3: RAAF Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre – $100 includes Morning Tea & Lunch
We can walk around and get up close to the F-111, a WWII Boston Bomber, Vietnam-era Canberra bomber, Caribou airlifter, Sioux and Iroquois helicopters, and WWII Jeeps on display, as well as Sabre and Mirage fighter jets. The museum focuses on the RAAF’s important role in South-East Queensland in both war and peace times, with exhibits, armaments, aircraft modules, engines and more. Reservists and volunteers act as friendly guides so you can feel free to ask them anything. We’ll enjoy lunch at the Prince Alfred Hotel in Ipswich, before coming home.

Saturday 5 at 8pm: Melinda Schneider: A Farewell to Doris at Caloundra Event Centre – $75 includes Entry
Following the recent passing of the legendary Doris Day, acclaimed Australian singer Melinda Schneider pays tribute to her childhood idol in A Farewell To Doris, performing all of Doris’ timeless hits, including Que Sera, Sera, Sentimental Journey, Everybody Loves a Lover and Secret Love, backed by the wonderful Young At Heart Orchestra. A nostalgic concert celebration of a remarkable life. Before the show, we’ll enjoy an early dinner at one of Caloundra’s favourite restaurants, at your own expense.

See the start of one of Australia’s flagship races, steeped in history and tradition, on board Lady Brisbane which will have us near the official starting line. A glorious day on the water!

Thursday 8: Delta Goodrem at The Brisbane Entertainment Centre – Details to Be Advised
Australia’s very own superstar, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem is set to embark on her Bridge Over Troubled Dreams Australian Tour. Get ready to sing along to your favourites like Born To TrySitting On Top Of The WorldWings 
and new single, Keep Climbing. $1 (plus GST) per ticket sold will be donated to the Delta Goodrem Foundation.

Saturday 17 at 7pm: John Williamson “Winding Back” – Celebrating 50 Years – at Caloundra Events Centre – $99 includes Entry
2020 sees Australian music icon John Williamson celebrate his 75th birthday, his 50th anniversary in the entertainment industry and supposedly a final big year on the road. Until COVID-19 came along.

Perhaps John’s greatest legacy is making Australians proud of their country; of who they are.

Prior to the show, we’ll enjoy an early dinner at one of Caloundra’s favourite restaurants, at your own expense.
